Principals’ Welcome
On behalf of all the stakeholders in our school I would like to welcome you to our school website. We are a co-educational Catholic Primary School under the patronage of the Diocese of Ossory. We operate under the Department of Education and Skills guidelines and curricular content.
Here in Scoil an Chroí Ró Naofa, Urlingford National School, our dedicated staff is committed to the welfare of the pupils and to providing a broad range of leaning experiences in a safe, supporting, caring environment. Our school is a happy school where the pupils engage productively in learning.
In partnership with parents, we work to achieve the best possible outcomes for all pupils so that they reach their full potential both academically and personally. We provide a broad range of extracurricular activities in order to appeal to as many children as possible. Extracurricular activities include soccer, rugby, cricket, hurling, camogie, swimming, quizzes, student council, book club, tin whistle, yoga, debating and choir. Pupils in our school have enjoyed great success in quizzes, hurling, camogie and Gaelic football in recent years.
Our school has nine mainstream classes and one ASD class which are staffed by 15 teachers, 3 SNAs, 2 part-time secretaries, 1 cleaner / caretaker, 3 bus escorts and 1 hot food operative. Our school opened our ASD class in January 2024 and re-instated our school hall in October 2024. Our school supplies hot school lunches for our pupils.
We are proud to be able to nurture and develop the young minds of Urlingford parish. I hope you find our school website helpful and that it conveys to you the vibrant, engaging and welcoming school that has served the people of Urlingford parish since 1986.
Le meas
An t-Uasal ó Lonergáin
